Week of October 14th - October 17th
1) Introduce Market Day and distribute packets.
2) Learn the Lingo! Look up the words on (STEP 1) using the dictionary app below. Scroll down for "Kid Definition." Write the definitions on the lines beside each.

Week 11
Week of October 20th - October 24th
1) Discuss vocabulary.
2) Discuss Interview with local business. (STEP 3).
3) Students choose partner & brainstorm product to create and sell. Have
(STEP 2) completed and ready to show Mrs. Brister at the beginning of our next class.

Week 12
Week of October 27th - October 31st

1) Discuss creating a business plan (STEP 4).
2) Students will meet with partner and work on their business plan. Meet with Mrs. Brister as needed to discuss your start-up costs.

Week 13
Week of November 3rd - November 7th
1) Discuss gathering your materials (STEP 5) and making products (STEP 6)​
2) Discuss advertising (STEP 7). Students may work collaboratively on their advertisement for their product.

Week 14
Week of November 10th - November 14th
1) Discuss applying for a business permit (STEP 8). Each partner must must complete the Business Permit form and turn it in.
2) Work on any areas needed to complete steps up through STEP 8.

Week 15
Week of November 17th - November 21st
1) Put the finishing touches on all steps in preparation for Market Day on Dec. 5th.
2) Hang your (one) advertisement on the 5th and 6th grade hall.

Week 16
Week of December 1st - December 5th
Discuss important info. for Market Day.​

Market Day will be on Friday 12/5 in Miller Hall
-
Set up will be between 7:30 and 8:00am (before school). Be sure to have everything you need at school for your set up Friday morning during this time.

Be sure to display your business permit somewhere visible at your booth. You will receive these Friday morning.

Market Day activities will begin at 9:00am (You will be called to report to the event over the intercom) and conclude at 10:00am.

You will be given Market Day Money ($20) to spend on Market Day.

You will take turns with your partner going shopping for 20 minutes.
-
You must spend all $20 of your Market Day Money so be sure to shop accordingly.

Bring your iPad to take pics of your booth, merchandise, and customers shopping to include in your Google Slides later.

Each booth needs to put all of their collected money from sales in the ziploc bag provided with your booth # on it.

At the end of Market Day, you will need to turn in your Ziploc bags to Mrs. Brister for safe keeping until your next class period.

Week 17
Week of December 8th - December 12th
1) Students will calculate profit.
2) Students will begin to work on their Google Slides from Market Day. Share your Slides with your partner so that the two of you may work on it collaboratively.

Week of December 15th - December 19th
1) Students will continue to work on their Google Slides from Market Day
2) Those who finished early with info on slides, can add transitions and animations.
